Senior guard Junior Robinson was back at it again dropping 38 points in a 93-78 win on Saturday as the Mount hosted Hood College for an exhibition game. The win moves them one step closer to the beginning of their regular season and annual road trip that the Mount takes across the country.
Early on in the contest the Mount went on a 38-6 run with contributions coming from all over the floor. Along with Robinson, senior Greg Alexander, first year Donald Carey, Omar Habwe, and Ace Stallings all found the bottom of the basket during the run with a barrage of 3 pointers and shots within the paint.
The Mount entered the locker room with a 25-point lead thanks to shooting a red hot 15-23 from deep in the first 20 minutes of play. Robinson scored 26 of his game high 38 in the first half, shooting 8-10 from behind the arc. Greg Alexander again showed great signs, scoring 16 points and snagging 6 rebounds. First year Donald Carey demonstrated he is ready to play, scoring 15 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists.
The Mountaineers open up their 2017-2018 regular season campaign against Marquette University on Friday, November 10th with tip-off at 9 p.m. eastern time.
