SGA Wants YOU! Learn what’s going on Tuesdays at 9:00 PM

The Student Government Association acts as a link between students and faculty. SGA holds meetings every Tuesday to meet with students to ensure the community is everything the students wish it to be.

The main focus is always on the student. The SGA also wishes to incorporate more first-year students, who are the future leaders of this campus. The organization welcomes anyone who wishes to run for class office.

The SGA does not work alone; it works with other offices to ensure that its ideas are accepted by the wider community. Campus stewardship and finding ways to make our campus even more environmentally-friendly are just a few of the projects done throughout the year.

If you have school spirit, the SGA wants you! It is currently looking for ways to boost school spirit and morale, and increasing the visibility of Emmit S. Burg, our school mascot.

The first meeting for the association will take place on Aug. 31 at 9 p.m. The office is located in Lower McGowan Hall, left of the pool table and before the Commuters’ Lounge. The officers will have handouts explaining the association as well as paperwork for those who wish to run for class office positions.

One of the Mount’s four pillars is community, so it is only right that we as a community encourage everyone to get involved.

Interested in how to get involved? Stop by Laughlin Auditorium at 9 p.m. on Tuesdays. For all you new students, packets are available in the Student Government Office in Lower McGowen, due Sept. 5 8:30 a.m. Advisory Board applications will be available Sept. 13.
