Women’s Basketball Drops Two Straight

What up Mount fans, and welcome to the last women’s basketball recap of the semester. Even though finals are coming up and students are rushing to get all their work done, the lady Mountaineers have been hard at work on the court. In the past week, the women’s basketball team has played two away games, one against Maryland-Eastern Shore and another at Loyola. While the Mount lost both games by more than five, there were positives to each game.

Against Maryland-Eastern Shore, the seniors led the scoring threat, with Jenn Carney and Jacqueline Brewer dropping 11 a piece. Sarafina Arthur-Williams also had a strong showing, grabbing eight boards for the team. In the assists column, guard Jody Chickey led the team with four. While the Mount played hard, the final score was in favor of Maryland-Eastern Shore, 58-43.

In the Loyola match, the lady Mountaineers came closer to the victory, with a score of 56-49. Leading the points column was guard Katrice Dickson, with nine. Also on the stat sheet we Brewer with six boards, and Arthur-Williams with three assists. Next up, the Mount returns to Emmitsburg to battle Coppin State on Wednesday the 10th. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
